Two events on the same day are designed to raise funds and awareness for turtle research and conservation in Malaysia.The afternoon carnival held at International School of Kuala Lumpur’s (ISKL) Ampang campus is designed for kids and families and will include food, games, art, crafts and educational presentations about turtles.The evening concert held at the Nu Skool club in the Melia Hotel will feature music by the Benchmarx.
All proceeds will be donated to the Centre for Turtle Research and Conservation (CTReC)- formerly known as SEATRU (Sea Turtle Research Unit)
Afternoon Carnival at ISKL
Where: International School of Kuala Lumpur, Ampang Campus
When: 25/11/06, 12pm – 2pm
What: There will be turtle related games, food, and art for sale. Former CTReC volunteers will have a photo exhibition of their experiences on Pulau Redang; there will be a presentation by Dr. Chan, Director of CTReC. An ISKL student band, Mookie, will play, followed by the Benchmarx.
Fee: Admission to the carnival is RM10.
Evening Concert at Melia Hotel, KL
Where: Nu Skool club, Melia Hotel, Jalan Imbi (across from TIMES Square)
When: 25/11/06, 8pm – 12am
What: The Benchmarx will perform original rock and entertaining covers of fan favorites from the 80’s and 90’s. Dr. Chan will present on ways to help turtle research and conservation.
Fee: Admission to the concert is RM30.
